This strong statement was said by the disabled hip hop artist Gideon Mamuthamani, who's popularly known to thousands of his fans as Killa Gee. He has made a name for himself nationally, despite the fact that he uses the aid of crutches to walk. “Those who say that hip hop is senseless sounds by the rascals and for the rascals need to revisit their views on the genre,” he added. Killa Gee.He states that when he sings, he aims to motivate, encourage and spread messages through music. "It is also sad because some newspapers still view hip hop in a negative light; they don't cover our success stories," he added. “My goal is to perform and be recognised as an artist. Most of all, I want to reshape the way in which people view physically disabled people, the world and themselves.” A 32-year-old polio survivor who lost the use of both his legs at the age of five, Killa Gee was born in Tshifulanani. His tale is an inspirational story that has touched the hearts of many South Africans. “I attended my primary school at Tshilidzini Special from 1987 to 1995,” he says. Killa Gee has been nominated for the Tshima Awards in two categories, namely Song of the Year (for Athi ni Shavhi) and also Best hip hop artist. Not only was his musical talents recognised by the radio, but the small screen welcomed the talented star in him when his tracks blazed on different television channels. His latest album is titled Amakripza Revisited.
